This will be the first lutefisk dinner for Silverton since before the war. Immanuel Lutheran church women are serving the dinner under the leadership of Mrs. Ed win Overlund and 600 pounds of lutefisk has been ordered. Mrs. Overlund will be assisted by Mrs. Oscar Overlund Mrs. Conrad Johnson, Mrs. Jonas Buberg, Mrs. Alfred Johnson. Mrs. E. B. Swayze, Mrs. Charles Johnson, Mrs. Emfl Lot, Mrs. Chester Bjekre, Mrs. C. TJndblad, Mrs. Olaf Tokstad, Mrs. E. Brines and Mrs. Lloyd Larsen. Committees for the bazaar to be held in connection with the dinner include Mrs. B. E. Gaffey, Mrs. Sam Bailer. Mr-. Melissa Golberg. Mrs. Albert Overlund, Mrs. H. Flraton, Mrs. Conrad Dahl, Mrs. Alfred Johnson, Mis. Stanley Swanson and Mrs. John Overlund. Aumsville Mr. and Mrs. Sam Wright and son George are living with their son-in-law and daugh ter, Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Gilles- pies, i following the fire which completely destroyed their home last Friday night. I i Four Corners Mr. and Mrs. C- R-i White of Portland visited his brother, I. H. White, 200 Beck ave., this week. The Portland man is on vacation after a year spent in Alaska on construction work. i Gates Mr. and Mrs. Glen Hennies visited last week at Albie Fishers at Forest Grove. While hunting there Mrs. Hennies killed her first deer. Four Corners Leroy Willig Of McChord field. Wash., has been on furlough visiting his mother. Mrs. Fred Buckner, 290 Elma ave. Sergeant Willig has been in army air corps for 12 years and re cently! reenlisted. j Aumsville Annual PTA ba zaar for benefit of school lunch program will be held November 12. Plans were made at the meet ing last week. Gates Byron Davis has pur chased land on Kings Prarie from Lang Stafford and will use it for an airplane landing field. Davis owns his own plane and has kept it on the Prarie. He plans to en large the airstrip to accommodate more planes. Four Corners Mrs. Charles Schuchert of Toledo, Ohio, has been a guest of the Fred Buck ners. 290 S. Elma ave., for two weeks -and now has gone 'to Oak land, Calif., to visit Mrs. Buck- ners son, Capt. L. G. Willig. be fore returning home. Sunnyside Community club will start the winter season with election of officers Friday. Octo ber 291 George Veall will preside and members of the executive committee will serve. Gates Thurlo Cole. 18 vear Old son of Mr. and Mrs. Burrel Cole, has enlisted in the United States; navy, and Is stationed at San Diego. The family will move there when It is ready. i I ! Fish are vacationing in Mexico and in their absence Earl Spencer is assisting at the Silverton bak ery. Macleay Mr. and Mrs. Merle I flank of Portland are visiting at tneC W. Powers. Gate Mrs. Henry Eccleson has returned from visiting her three sisters in Portland. Turner Mr. and Mrs. Jack Wheeler are now operating the grill, formerly operated by Mr. ana jars. Kenneth Barber. Silverton Maxine Hope, who has been in the offices of Oregon Pulp and Paper company, Silver- ton null, for the past several months, has resigned to accept a similar position at Foster. Central Howell Bringing back salmon from their coast fishing trip were Weldon Hatteberg and W. T. Hatteberg this week. Silverton Mrs. E. R. Adams, 78, left by plane Wednesday for Homestead, Pa., to attend funer al services of her brother-in-law. Albert Gable. Mr. and Mrs. Gable have visited here and have many acquaintances here. Mrs. Adams, when she left here, hoped to bring her sister back for the winter. Mr. Gable died unexpectedly Tuesday from a heart attack. Women Will Furnish Turkey Shoot Food MT. ANGEL Mrs. Cecil Lucht is chairman of the indoor turkey shoot food committee and will be assisted by Mrs. Christine Crowd- er, Mrs. Mary Prosser, Mrs. Rose Butsch, Blanche Norton. Mrs. Frank Borkenhagen, Katherine I Erwert and Loretta Dehler. Auxiliary members were re minded to bring or send a gift to the meeting November 9 for the hospital gift shop in Portland. Peggy Skonetzni and Mrs. Wil liam Meissner were present and asked for help for the Girl Scout program sponsored by the local unit. Miss Skonetzni resigned r leadership in favor of Mrs. Meiss- j ner. Two more leaders are needed and the auxiliary members were i asked to aid in finding them. . District officers will be invited . to the meeting November 23. Legion Pie Social Replaces Meeting SILVERTON Pie social and rarH nartv rpnlaoed the Mondav I night meeting of Delbert Reeves Post American Legion and aux iliary. Mrs. A. J. McCannel was in charge of the pie social. Prize winners during the evening were Clarence Higinbotham, Fern Jor- genson, Marie BJundell and Ina Harold.
