Detroit Women Meet; library Project Gains DETROIT The Women's Civic club met for the first time this sea son on Tuesday evening -at the home of Mrs. S. T. Moore. Seven teen members were present. Guests were Mrs. Eli Baggs, Mrs. Alice Perkins, Mrs. Russell Hoyt, Mildred Gooch, Mrs. John Ray, Mrs. Eber -Weis and Mrs. Lloyd Leach.' The elub decided to Join the Federation of Women s clubs. There will be a food sale on Oc tober ?2 and 23 for raising mon ey. Mrs. R us kin Smith was put in charge. Reports from the library show about 250 books in the library now. Cards have been given to 30 different -families during the three months the library has been o it erating. One hundred children's books will be ordered from the state library soon. Hours are 1 to 3 o clock on Tuesday afternoon and 6:30 to 8:30 on Friday evening. Mrs. Ruskin Smith invited the club to meet with her at the next meeting on Tuesday, October 5. Maud Ackley nd Jack Sellers of Albany visit ed the Hush Bilveus of Greens Bridge last week. Virtus Seehale of Portland was another visitor In the community. Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur Funk of Portland, - former residents of Greens Bridge, visited relatives and friends here this week. Mr. and Mrs. Jess Peterson of Lebanon and Ezra Watkins of Philomath visited Greens Bridge relatives last week. Mr. and Mrs. Leo Gronke of Portland were guests of the W. D. Glasgows on Greens Bridge road this week. Aurora Homes Change Owners AURORA Mr. and Mrs. M. D. JLeabo have sold their home on Bobs avenue to Mr. and Mrs. H. MorrKz and have bought a home In Salem. Mr. and Mrs. John EVerhart have also sold their home, across the street from the Leabos, to Mr. Everhart's father, H. N. Everhart, nd are moving to Canby. The Ev erharts own the undertaking par lors in Aurora, Canby and Mol 11a. - Mr, and Mrs. Marshall Zieglers old iheir home on Main street nd have bought a home in Oregon City. I i Club Formed By Students AUBURN The first school or ganization for Auburn is that of the fifth and sixth grades "Week ly Reader club. Officers are: president, Janet Fowler; vice president, Frances Freeman; secretary, Frances Bur ris, and master of ceremonies. Boyd Freieri Meetings are held each Monday and members are called on for items they have read in the "Current Weekly." Aim of the club is to promote better read ing habits and develop leadership. A guest this week in the homes of former neighbors on Monroe, is Mrs. Alvie Harp, now of Fruit land, Idaho. Russell family who had not been together $ince 1912 held a reunion last Sunday at the George Lee Rus sell home on South Monmouth avenue. The seven children included James O. Russell of Turner; Wil liam J. Russell, Oakland. Calif.; George Lee Russell, Monmouth; Burt Roy Russell of Portland; Mrs. Claire V. Russell Glover, McMinnville; Ada Hazel Russell McCann, Long Beach, Calif.; Blanche L. Russell, Monmouth.
