Raht will be -honored at a farewell re ception Friday night when mem bers of the Women's Society of Christian Service of the First Me thodist church entertain in the Carrier room of the church. All Interested friends of the Rahes and members of the church are in vited to call between 8 and 10 o'clock. Dr. and Mrs. Rahe have been active members of the church for the past 19 years. Mrs. Frank Bennett will intro duce to the line which will include the Rev. and Mrs. Brooks Moore, Dr. and Mrs. Rahe and Mr. and Mrs. M. J. Gilson. At the doors will be Mr. and Mrs. Henry Carl, Mr. and Mrs. Herbert J. Osthnd, Dr. and Mrs. Frank Voigt and Mr. and Mrs. Paul Acton. Mrs. George E. Lewis and Mrs. -Wade Ellis will invite guests to the dining-room and pouring will be Miss Jessie Rodman and Mi's. Ted Ullakko. Assisting about the room will be Mr. and Mrs. Waldo Mar sters, Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Lee, Mr. ' and Mrs. John Marr and Mrs. D. H. Mosher. Serving will be Mes- - dames Emmett O. Welling, O. V. Hume, Vernon Wiscarson, Harold McMillan, Donald Brazie and Ar thur Cole. Mrs. Robert Moulton Gatke will be in charge of the guest book. Mrs. Walter L. Spauldihg heads the directorate for the affair with Mrs. Ronald Glover as co-c hair mi n. Mrs. Roy Fedje is arranging the program and Mrs. H. W. Mar sters will decorate the table.. Summertime Travelers Dr. and Mrs. Kenneth Waters and daughters, Clarice, Claudia and Marilyn, leave Thursday by car for a trip north to Canada. They will fish on the Campbell river for a week and on returning home will stop in Victoria, B. C, at the Empress hotel and Seattle. Joining the Salem family on the fortnight's trip will be Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Whiteside of Cor valli and Mr. and Mrs. Charles Parks of Newberg. Mr. and Mrs. George Weller have returned from a week's so journ in San Francisco, where they also visited their son. John, who U attending school in the bay city. Mr. and Mrs. P. H. I, will be honored at a linen shower and dessert given by Miss Gerl Bowles on Tuesday, at her home In Portland. Both attended Willamette uni versity, where Miss Balk was a PI Beta Phi and Mr. McLellan is a member of Phi Delta Theta. He will resume his studies there this fall. Miss Shirley Wiest recently entertained in Miss Balk's honor with a kitchen shower and house ' party at her home in Aloha. For her wedding the bride chose a brown crepe afternoon gown. brown straw hat adorned with pale green veiling and brown ac cessories. Her corsage was of gold gladioluses and her only ornament was a family heirloom oiamona necklace. Mrs. Herbert M. Paddock, jr., came north from San Francisco to K har clctM-'a Anlv attendant. She wore a wood violet crepe gown and corsage or vioiet giacuoiuses. mr. Paddock stood with Dr. Liest as best man.
