t I , f I . - ;f - SOCIETY CLUBS MUSIC A Garden Ceremony . Saturday In the garden of the horn of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Wil liam A. Roth, on Saturday after noon Mis Lucille Roth, became the bride of Robert W. Beach, aon of Mr. and Mrs. A. C Beach of Seattle. It was at 4 o'clock that Dr. Ralph Walker, pastor of the White Temple Baptist church In Portland, performed the cere mony. Homer Welty sang and Mrs. Welty played the wedding music On the arm of her father, the bride walked through the garden to the improvised altar. Her white satin Eown was fashioned on tra ditional lines with train, long sleeves and a square neckline embellished with seed pearl de sign. She carried a white Bible marked with orchids and stephan otis. Mrs. Robert Nelson of Portland was the honor matron and brides maids were Mrs. Carl May and Mrs. Leonard Roth. Their t mar quisette frocks were made with full skirts with a deep ruffle at the bottom, ruffling around the neckline and short sleeves. The hrwio? attendant wore yellow and the bridesmaids were in orchid, They wore matching hats of mar quisette and carried wedding rings adorned with sweet peas and other summer flowers in con trasting shades. Robert Nelson- stood with the groom as best man and ushering the guests into the garden were me bride's brothers, Robert and Leonard Rcth. For her daughter's nuptials Mrs. Roth chose a black dress trimmed In pink and pink and black accessories. Mrs. Beach at tended her son's marriage in a grey dress and both bad corsages of gardenias and pink rosebuds. The newlyweds greeted their guests in the garden, where the reception was also held. Mrs. Ro bert L. Elfstrom was in charge of the bride's table and pouring were Mrs. Edward Leisy, Portland and Mrs. Ernest itotn. juts, ura Herr served the ices and the groom's sister, Mrs. J. G. Condon of Seattle, cut the bride's cake. Mn. CI. II Simmons cut the groom's cake. Assisting were Mrs. L. T. ArrelL Mrs. Paul Riensche, Mrs. Earl Schar, Mrs. Carl John son, Misses Joanne Roth, Doris Roth, Shirley Roth, Carmen Roth and Hulda Gerig. Mr. Beach and his bride have gone north I to Victoria and Van couver, B. C on their honeymoon and for traveling she donned a beige gabardine miit with pink blouse and gloves and brown satin hat The couple will live in Portland, where he is in business. Mrs. Helen MeLeed will be hostess to members of the execu tive board, appointive officers, and committee chairman of Cap ital unit, American Legion aux iliary at ai: no-host picnic dinner at the Cheater Zumwalt residence, 845 Hood,: 6:15 p. m. Monday. Picture will be taken for the history. The regular board meet ing will follow the dinner. Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Bend and daughter, Suzanne, of Seattle are arriving in Salem today for a several days stay with his mother, Mrs. Harvey Bond, and Mrs. Charles Weller. The Bonds are on vacation and enroute to south ern Oregon and the beaches. Salem Man To Take Bride The Lebanon Methodist church will be the setting for the wed ding this afternoon of Miss Nor man' Wyvette Schliske. daughter of Mr. and Mrs. E. H. Schliske of Lebanon, and William Rienert cake.fHabernicht, son of Mrs. W. L. Habernicht ox Salem. The o' clock nuptials will be performed by the Rev. Carl Mason. Mrs. Joel C Booth will be the organist and ; Michael Carolan will be the soloist Lighting the tapers will be iMiss Barbara Mason, the bride's cousin, and Mrs. Carroll Day. Mr. Schliske will give his daughter in marriage ana for her wedding she has selected a white slipper satin gown designed with a court train, long sleeves and a wide lace yoke on the bodice. Her fingertip length tulle veil is edged in lace and she will carry a bou quet of white roses centered with an orchid. Mrs. E. L. Leonard, the matron of honor, will wear green mar quisette with yellow trim and green mitts and hat Bridesmaids will be Mrs. W. L Valentine and Mrs. H. C Knapp. Jr, who will have yellow marquisette frocks with green trim, yellow mitts and hats. Donald L. Schliske, brother of the bride, wOl serve as best man and ushers include Kooert ai land of Condon and Jerry S. An Atm of Salem. Mrs. Schliske has chosen an anna erene sown with white ac cessories for the wedding and the groom's mother will wear a grey crept gown with pink Their corsages wOl be of baby orchids, ., j; .
