The governor also was on the senate floor with Cordon again today. The Oregon senator will move Monday that Hall be admitted to practice before the supreme court. Later the two will go to the Re publican National convention at Philadelphia. Car Explodes After Wreck A car involved in a collision in Salem late Saturday night ex ploded and was completely de .troved by flames before firemen could be summoned, city police reported. Officers who investigated the accident said the auto of Don E. Lucero, 2425 Center St., was liter ally destroyed by fire shortly after being struck from the rear by an auto operated by Teddy El wood Smith, 3395 Center street, in the 2,000 block of Center st. Smith was arrested by police and charged with being intoxicat ed. Both cars were headed east at the time of the collision, police said. Head-on Wreck Injures Man George B. Congress Short Of Economy Goal WASHINGTON, June 20-(Sun-day) (JP) House appropriations committee figures snowed today that the second session of the 80th congress fell almost a billion dol lars short of its economy goal. The legislative budget - adopted earfy this year called for a reduc tion totaling $2,800,000,000 in ap propriations made during this ses sion of congress. Appropriations approved amounted to $34,990, 983,929, made on the basis of pres idential budget requests for $36, 957,718,221 on the bills involved.
