Wash., chapter, were introduced. I The choir of Salem Bethel of Job's Daughters sang a group of ongs directed by Mrs. Harvey Gibbeni and accompanied by Miss DeiorM Taylor. Peter Larson, bari tone, sang a group of songs ac companied by Mrs. Lawrence Ftagg. Mrs. Ralph Morgan was intro duced as a new member by affil iation. Degrees of the order were conferred on the following new members: Miss Nancy Witting. Mrs. Ethel Witting. Mrs. Ralph Se core, Mrs. Mary Dunn, James Car lin and Clair Douglas. Mrs. Kehne Wain, guardian of Saiem bethel of Job's Daughters and Mrs, Joe Rogers, guardian of Independence bethel were introduced and pre sented corsages. Both told of the activities of their bethels. Mrs. R. D. Lee- of Eugene, sis ter of the worthy patron of Chad wick chapter, Herman Johnston, assisted by the visiting chapter members gave a Friendship de gree honoring Mrs. Reeher and Mr. Johnston. Following the program, supper was served in the dining rooms by the following committee: Mr. and Mrs. Albert C. Gragg. Virgil Gold en, Oral M. Lemmon, Mesdames L. M. Purvine, D. X. Beechler and Sam Rundlett. Four Corners Group Meeting Held at Hall FOUR CORNERS Girl Scouts Troop 42 met Tuesday at the Com munity hall. Plans for a picnic at Summer day camp May 23 were made. A new troop flag will be purchased and members will sell cookies. Mrs. Gerald Wing is troop leader. Rod and Gun club met Monday for target practice. Visitors were Lester Perry and Mr. Greigsentog. High scorers were Clyde Johnson, Thomas Jones, Dale Jeffries and Pete Austin. House guest of Donald Brant this week has been Alvin Gepner. Ar lington, Wash. The Gepner family formerly lived hare. She was driven no from her home in Rose burg by Mrs. Earl Flegel, and will be driven back by her hosts next Clyde Bcatty Circus Due in Salem May 26 Clyde Beatty's trained wild ani mal circus will be in Salem Wed nesday, May 28. for two perform ances at the state fairgrounds parking lot, it was announced Thursday. Performances will begin at 2:30 and t p.m. Doors to the menag erie will open at 1:30 and 7 p.m. A horse fair in which prize rib bon thoroughbreds are exhibited will also be found on the circus lot. Beatty, the featured performer of the show, twice during the day will present his spectacular wild animal act. Sharing honors with her famous husband. Mrs. Clyde Beatty will present a unique trained wild animal act in which she directs performances of a royal Bengal tiger and an Indian elephant. "The Merchants of Mirth," the chalk-faced, slap-happy clowns with the show, will be seen cari caturing . prominent personalities, lampooning" current events and poking gentle fun at human frailties. The world famous Anlaleks, recently imparted from Curope, will perform breath-taking high pale feats. "War Cloud," the re nowned Morgan stallion, will da a series of waltzes, marches, rumbas and ballet number, keep ing in perfect time with the Vic tor Robbins circus band. A thrilling elephant ballet, "Jumbos on Parade." will feature talented and beautiful girls in three rings with the ponderous pachyderms. Kay Frances Han neford. pretty bareback riding star of the famous George Harme ford family, and her talented brothers wUl exhibit riding skills in another act.
