IQrnqon,' Saturday, May 1. 1948 Singing, Acting Given Praise in WU Musical Comedy 'Roberta9 f By Maxlne Bores The melodious musical comedy "Roberta" by the Willamette Uni versity Workshop players proved to be a "full" evening's enjoyment Friday night to an audience which approached the auditorium's capa city. It will be repeated tonight at 8:13. The players are to be highly praised for the fine work they did in the few short weeks since their last production- The performance was long (almost four hours) but "Boberta" is always long, partly because of necessity of many changes of scenery. The players are to be warmly commended for their splendid n aging and acting, and the chorus wotk and musicians of the orch estra for their support. First praise goes to Norma Lu Faaborg, a newcomer to the Wil lamette productions, who as "Ste phanie" displayed a fine voice and good sense of the dramatic; to Reid She 1 ton, an always - to-be - re lied - upon performer who was John; to Bob be Myer who as the excitable comedienne might have stolen the show but was too good a showman to do so: and to Em- mett Carol an who as Huck Haines Old Time DAIICE Every Saturday IlighJ IS9 Court Street Over Western Aate Masle By MATCHES OLD TIME ORCHESTRA Admission 60c Tax tna.
