valley (OtoDtuairies Clarence L. Andrews ALBANY Funeral service for Clarence L. Andrews, 85, who died in Eugene at the home of a sister April 17, were held Tues day. April 20. The Rev. Roy Strong officiated, with burial in Sand Ridge cemetery. Born in Asthabula county, Ohio, Oct 19, 1882. Andrews came to Oregon in 1864 when two years of age. In 1884 he moved to .Seat tle, then to Alaska where he pent many years. Later he mov ed to Heppner, and for the past several years had lived here. He was well known as a writer of Alaskan history. Married twice, first in 1883 to Annie Anderson who died in 1885, and in 1887 to Ida Swag gart at Heppner. She died m 1903. Survivors are four half sisters, Mrs. Elza Morgan of Shedd. Mrs Walter T Wiles of Eugene, Mrs. Ben Wheldon of Payette, Idaho, and Mrs. Guy Blancher of Tacoma. Edward Terry will officiate, with burial in Willamette Memorial park. Ina May Smith was bora in Albany Nov. 29, 1883, daughter of the late 5r. and Mrs. Delazon Smith. April 15, 1911, sh mar ried Roscoe , C. Thomas and for many years they made their home in Jefferson, After her husband died in 1937 she returned to Al bany. She was a member of the Eastern Star and Jefferson Wom en's club and of the Methodist church. Survivors are two children. j Mrs. Florence Cathey of Albany ) and Delazon Thomas of Jeffer son; two brothers and three sis i ters. Delazon Smith of Portland, j Merrill Smith of Lebanon. Mrs. ; E. A Boyle of Salem, and Volena Smith and Ianthe Smith of Al bany, and four grandchildren. Ina May Thomas ALBANY Mrs Ina May Thomas, 64, a resident of Albany and Jefferson her entire life, died at the Albany General hospital April 18 after an attack of pneu monia. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 21, from Fisher Funeral home. The Rev. r? Evelyn Ellen McGinn is ALBANY Evelyn Ellen Mc Ginnij, six-months-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George J. Mc Ginnii of Klamath Falls, died there April 18 following a long illness. Funeral services were held at 2:30 o'clock Tuesday. April 20. from the Albany Pent"costal Church of God, with Rev. Heath W. Lcwery conducting the serv ices. Burial was in Riverside. Baby Evelyn was born in Al bany on September 2.3. 1947. Her parents at the present time are temporarily in Klamath Falls where her father was a student irt a vocational school. April 22. the Rev. Edgar B. Luther officiating, with burial in Wil lamette Memorial park. Born Sept 26, 1886, in Athens, Tenn., Daley Sliger had lived in Hartman, Colo., before coming here 26 years ago. For many years he had been an employe of Linn county in the market road maintenance crew. He was a member of the Baptist church. On April 4. 1909, at Hartman, Colo., he married Cecile H. Moore, who survives, as do three children. Floyd H. Sliger and Mrs. Robert W. Warren, both of Albany, and Mrs. William Gut- i tormsen of Corvallis; also two ' brothers and four sisters, Luther j T. Sliger, Ira Sliger, Mrs. S. I. Day, sr., Mrs. Charles Wade. Mrs. Harvey Anderson and Mrs. A. Auburn Sharon Laferty, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Glen Laferty has been out of school because of illness and Mrs. Laferty was home with her for several das, and had a substitute take her classroom. Silverton Althea Meyer spent the weekend at Portland as a guest of her cousins. Mr. and Mrs. Paul Lewis, and her father, L H. Meyer, who is in Good Samaritan hospital Meyer will return to his home late this week.
