-Kay survey To Begin in County Monday The annual X-ray survey will begin Monday in Marion cotraty and will continue through May 13, with X-ray machines slated to visit schools, industries and hospitals. In the county's schools, however, all students will be X-rayed, except in Salem senior high school where junior and senior students only will be taken. The mobile X-ray machine will return to Salem on May IS and 17 to take in larger sizes X-rays of persons who were tak en earlier and classed as "prob ables." He owned a small trailer, but it had no top. A conventional trailer top would cost him more than he felt he could afford to pay. He had an idea. Why not get some metal bows and cover the trailer with canvas? He brought the idea to us. We made the bows of strip-rolled metal, thus saving the vacationist money. A sign maker needed two round angle-rolled metal frames for a large outside sign. We did the Job exactly as specified, saving both time and money that would have been expended if the Job had been ordered from an Eastern firm. A local mill needed six odd-shaped metal machinery guards. We were consulted and did the Job according to specifications. These are examples o( the great variety of metal jobs we can do. We have the plant, the machinery and skill, backed by 36 years of successful op eration, to do hundreds of such jobs. Driver Training Course Scheduled For Instructors Continuing spread of the driver education and training program in Oregon high schools has resulted in the scheduling of a third course for instructors August 23 to 27 In Portland, Secretary of State Earl T. Under the pro gram, high schools with qualified course instructors are assigned du al control training cars. The summer course, by which teachers earn three hours of gra duate or undergraduate credit credit from the state system of higher education and qualify as in structors, will be held at Lincoln, high school in Portland. Prof. Amos Neyhart, Pennsyl vania. State college, and one of the -nation's foremost; driver training instructors, will conduct the course. The U.
