Dealings were restricted to a certain extent by the long-thieat-ened strike of financial employe. While both the stock and curb ex -changes wei heavily picketed, broker reported that operations were "more or less normal''. Scattered copper- and indus trials hardened on the big bo;ird after an easier opening. While de cline of fractions to a point or so were widc-pread at the clo-e. gain of as much were fairl well dis tributed. Volume of 760.00(1 shares was under the million-mark for the first full session since March 18. Totaled WASHINGTON, March 29 -iTP) The agriculture department de partment reported today it bought 7.315.683 bushels of wheat last week for shortage area abroad. Flour purchases totaled 40.390 -000 pounds the rouivalent of 82.671 bushels of wheat. Department purchases of grain products since last Julv 1 totaled 222.537.846 bushels of wheat: 51. 646.051 bushels wheat equivalent of flour; 5.703.805 bushels of bar ley: 5.275.561 bushels of oats: 4. 712.661 bushels of grain sor ghums; and 912.460 bushels of rye.
