JEWELERS Polite Officers Class Planned A class for law enforcement of ficers in this area on handling of juvenile cases will be given by Leslie Chase, Juvenile officer of Portland school district 1 from 2 to 9 o'clock Tuesday in the Salem Chamber of Commerce rooms. This class is one of a series of regional police schools sponsored by the Oregon Association of ity Police Officers and the Oregon State Sheriffs' association to pro vide advanced training for city and county police officers. In ad dition to public law enforcement officers, school principals. Juven ile officers and others concerned with law enforcement as it per tains to juveniles are invited. Salem police chief F. A. Minto, in charge of local arrangements, explained that classes covering various phases of advanced police work are being given twice a week in 11 centers throughout the state. Arrangements for the schools are made by Elmer H. Halstead, supervisor of public training for the state division of vocational education. Agencies cooperating include the Portland police bur eau, Maltnomah county sheriffs effice. Bureau of Municipal Re search and Service of the Uni versity of Oregon and the League of Oregon Cities.
