Ji 1 it 1 Falls City Lists Many Visitors FALL CITY Mr. Bn Hopeke returned to her home In Salem af ter spending several days with her daughter, Mrs. Harvey Marr. Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Graham and family. Mrs. Katie Graham and son Warren spent Christmas in Salem with Mr. and Mrs. Claude Graham. Norman Davis was transacting- business in Salem Monday. Mr. and Mrs. Dick Murphy and Mildred Wray were Dallas visitors Monday. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Ames and children of Reeds port were vis iting friends . and relatives over the weekend. Mrs. Dennis and daughter Ma bel and grandson Bobby of In- dependence spent Christmas at the ' Ray Dennis home. Patty Page of Seattle spent a few days with her mother, Mrs. Katherine Page. Mr. and Mrs. Lyle Good and children of Portland, Mr. and Mrs. Wendell Woodin and children of Wlllamina and Mr. and Mrs. Ron nie Taylor and children of Dallas spent Christmas with Mr. and Mrs. Byron Ames. Mr. and Mrs. Joe Dodge left for San Francisco Saturday night, where they will visit friends for a week. Mr. and Mrs. Cdon Shepard I spent Christmas day in Sweet Home visiting relative. IN FOETLAND MILL CITY Mr. and Mrs. Har Id Frisch and family spent the Firemen Dine At Special Meal AUMS VILLI The Aums ville city firemen gave a special Christmas dinner at the city hall the evening of December 22. Fifty attended' including, city council members, rural district firemen and city firemen and their wives. Bill and Paul Ihse and Paul Stewart furnished the entertain ment. On Tuesday. December 23, Don Gentzler acted as Santa CI a us at the firemen's Christmas program, Mr. and Mrs. Mark Lewis and son. Joe Lewis and Mrs. C. E. Lewis drove to Omak. Wah., Saturday for a week's visit. Mr. and Mrs, Ray Tubus and family and Jerry Roberts return ed Tuesday from a trip to Cali fornia and Oklahoma where they visited relatives. Scouts Do Well With Tree jSales STAYTON According to a report given to Tuesday's meet ing of the Lions club. Clifford Likes, president, said that Boy Scouts of troop 50' has sold $83 worth of Christmas trees from their lot located next to the Star theatre. Betty Jean Bodeker who has completed her nurses training at the University of Oregon medical school in Portland is spending her vacation at the home of her par ents. Mr. and Mrs. Alex Bodeker. Mr. and Mrs. Chris Anderson re turned home Sunday from Parma, Idaho, after spending the holidays st the home of their daughter and family. Mr. and Mrs. Art Andersen and Jack spent Christmas day and the week end with relatives in Klam ath Falls, returning home Sunday. Official board meeting of the Lyons Methodist church was held at the R. T. Cooklngham home Monday. Mr. and Mrs. Gu ill jams who purchased the Mehama garage are installing a self service laundry next to the garage. Mr. and Mrs. Lyle Burmister entertained her parents, Mr. and Mrs. William Beran of Scio, Christmas. Mr. and Mrs. Stamy Searle of G lends le, Calif., are visiting their son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Power and children. Lucille Lewis. Philomath teach er, is spending her holiday vaca tion with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Lewis. Bob Brassfield left for Pasadena, Calif, Monday morning. Fails City Mrs. Mlna Hoppe fell and hit her head and was taken to Dallas to a doctor. Two stitches were taken in the injury. TJaJea Hill Mr. and Mrs. Bob Morrison have moved from Los Angeles, Calif, to the home of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Heater. Mr. Morrison will assist Mr. Hea ter with the farm work. Mill CttY Mr. and Mrs. Ed ward Cruson, Gail snd Jerry spent Christmas with his brother. Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Cruson and family at Pacific Beach, Wash. Later in the week they visited in Seattle. Reising er died Dec 28 at the McMinn ville hospital at the age of 74 years. Born In New Point, Ind, Feb. 1, 1471, In 1392 he married Deborah Harvey who preceded him In death last ApriL He is survived by two children. Dr. W. H, Reisinger. Portland; Mrs. Edith Law, Amity; four grand children and nine great grand children. He was a member of the Christian church. He was a carpenter and cabinet maker by trade and lived in Portland for many years. The last few years he had lived in Amity where they built a new home to be near their daughter and son-in-law. Dr. and Mrs.- Charles H. Law. Failing health and shock from a recent fall which broke bis arm was evident cause of death. The Rev. Bruce F. Caldwell of ficiated at the commitment ser vices at RIverview Abbey, Port land. Dec. 27. Macy & Son were in charge. Zera Irene Pembertea AMITY Mrs. Zora Irene Pemberton, wife of Dr. H. F. Pemberton, pastor of the Amity Methodist church, died Mondsy, Dec 20 In the McMinnville hos pital after a long illness. She leaves, besides her widower, sons snd daughters. Dr. Paul A, Salt Lake City, Utah; Dr. H. EarL Santa Monica, Calif.; H. Francis, Seattle; Dr. Philip E, Portland; John A, Denver; Mrs. Laura E. Corner. BothelL Wash.; Mrs. Helen I. Price, Lebanon; Miss Margaret Pemberton, Dallas; 23 grandchildren; one brothrr, J. Blaine Cltae. Seattle, and one sister, Mrs. Ada Noaker of Penn sylvania. ! Mrs. Pemberton was born in IdaviUe, Pa. April 19. 180. and was married June Z, 1903. 2oon after their wedding the Pember- tons went to India as mission aries, remaining less than a year. In September, 1904, they went to Montana and since have served churches -eas Montana, Idaho, Washington, Oregon and Callfor- Memorial services will be held at the Amity Methodist , church Friday . afternoon, January 2, at 2 o'clock.
