SENTENCED IN SILVERTON Freddie Glen Long, Gales Creek, was sentenced in Silverton justice court Friday morning to 60 days in jail, a $25 fine and costs on a charge of disorderly conduct for which he was arrest ed Tuelday at Silverton by the constable. The Jail term was sus pended upon payment of fine and costs, and Long was released on his own recognizance for 24 hours to raise the money. He was plac ed on one year's probation. Salem resident for 22 years prior to 1940, died Friday morning at the home of a daughter, Mrs. C Walter (Elizabeth) Bennett, in Spring field, Ore. Mrs. Nila Grimes and Mrs. Pearl C. Jones of Salem, both daughters, survive. Funeral services will be at 10 ajn. Monday at Bartholomew Buell chapel in Springfield, with Rev. Charles Durden of Salem Calvary Baptist church officiat ing. Graveside services will be at 2 pm. Monday in I OOF cemetery in Salem. Mrs. Parkhill was born in Du buque, Iowa, Nov. IS. 1869, and married Fred A. Parkhill in Den ney, Wis., Nov. 11, 1891. They moved to Washington state in 1908, to Salem In 1918 and to Springfield in 1910. Mr. Parkhill died in 194S. Other survivors are a son. Day D. Parkhill of Kelso, Wash.; brother, Harry J. Major losses were re duced shortly before the close when a rally developed on active -trading, but most cereals ended below yesterday's finish.
