Call 9405. - JESTEN-MILLER'S Slavenska to Dance Here Mia Slavenska and her troup of ten dancers will appear as the sec ond program for the winter Ma son for member of the Salem com munity concert association on Friday, December 12. The enter tainment will be at Salem 'high school auditorium. "Ballet Variant" will present the beautiful dance star of the motion picture "Ballerina" In her most famous dance roles and sev eral new creations. Mme. Slavenska was born In Croatia and came to America as the prima ballerina with the Bal let Russe de Monte Carlo. She is known as a choreographer as well as a dancer, and has staged many of the numbers to be given here. Included among Mme. Slaven ska's compay are George Zoritch, Joey Harris, Lois Ellyn, Maria Farra, Claire Field, Ann Barney, Nicky Nadeau and George Ells worth. Mme. Slavenska is now the wife of Dr. Kurt Neumann and the mo ther of a young daughter. She has become an American citizen with in the past few years. Regular meeting of Chadwick Assembly, Order of Rainbow for Girls will be held Tuesday night at the Masonic temple. The de grees of the order will be confer- j red and plans made for the Christ mas party. Members are ask ed to bring gifts for the annual Christmas party for the Children's Farm Home. Frank Crawford home at Zena for the Christmas party sponsored by the Spring Valley Home mission ary society Thursday. Co-hostesses were Mesdames V. L. Gibson, Wilfred Lantis, J. P. Smart and Robert Yungen. The two local women's clubs, Spring Valley Home missionary society and Lincoln Goodwill club will combine meetings for Jan. 8 at the Zena church. Mrs. L. I. Mickey presided at the meeting. Mrs. Louis Handle, guest, spoke on what the council of churches has outlined for Christmas. The group will contact some worthy family and provide Christmas cheer for them. Mrs. Roy E. Barker, Mrs. Fred Muller and Mrs. Arthur Yungen were named on the committee. Mrs. Harold D. "Burns, president of the Lincoln Goodwill club read letters from . a woman's institute in England which was sent a box of food. Mrs. Worth Henry read the Bible Christmas story.
