Lincoln Folk Holiday Hosts LINCOLN Lincoln folks who were holiday guests at the R. F. Kidds of Hopewell included Mr. and Mrs. Chris Yungen, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Yungen; Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Yungen and Walter. Mrs. J. D. Walling was a guest of her son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Walling in Salem. Mrs. Minnie Root of Portland spent Sunday with her sister, Mrs. 3. D. Walling at Lincoln. Mrs. Eva Purvine was a holliday guest of her daughter Marjorie in Portland. Mr. and Mrs. L. I. Mickey were hosts Sunday honoring Mrs. Leo White whose birthday occurred November 24, Mrs. Fannie Emel, Jeannie Smith and Claude Mix whose birth dates were Novem ber 28. Other guests included Mrs. Elnora Mickey, Mrs. Claude Mix and David and Kathleen, Leo White, Jimmy Mickey, John Rod riguez, Mr. and Mrs. Hale Mickey and Sharon. Butteville Church to Have Monitor Seats MONITOR The Monitor Con gregational church made a long time loan of some of their church seats to the Butteville church which has Just ' finished a new church to replace one burned some months ago. Seats loaned will seat about 70 people. Mrs. Otto Gould of Bremerton, Wash., is visiting her son, Don Gould and family. Sunshine Club Members To Aid with Carnival SPRING VALLEY Mrs. W. E. Weinberg, president of the Spring Valley Sunshine club, entertained with a social afternoon for the club Wednesday when 23 mem bers and five children were pres ent. Two meetings a month instead of one has been decided and members are cooperating with Spring Valley Community club in raising funds to furnish the new school kitchen. They completed plans at this meeting to have the annual tur key dinner held in connection with a carnival at the schoolhouse December 11. A quilt to be sold at the carni val is being made. Mrs. Axel Rob ertson will be hostess for the meeting December 3. HOLIDAY GUESTS GRAND ISLAND At Mrs. C. A. Bethany Mr. and Mrs. Harry Bentson were hosts at dinner Fri day night for Mr. and Mrs. Rolfe Bentson and son Wade, Mrs. Wava Axley, Edwin, Elsie and Murial Bentson. Murial Bentson,who taught in Seattle last yeaf, is teaching at Salem again this year where she formerly taught. She is doing special work in reading study. Pringle Mrs. Lucy Fromberg underwent an emergency operation Monday night at Salem Memorial hospital. Waldo Hills The Roy Browns have received word that his broth er, Claude, who had been treated for ulcer at a Portland hospital, is now at his home ind able 'to re sume his duties with he Southern Pacific Railway. Pringle Mr. andMrs. T. W. Howard were Sunday guests of the Del Binkley famfly. Silverton Mr. and Mrs. Robert Marshall have sold their home on Church street and are planning to move to Roseburg. Mr. , Mar shall, a navy veteran, has been employed as lineman at Interur ban Telephone company. Mrs. Marshall is a former resident of Roseburg. Mt.
