Turner Guests Entertained Thanksgiving TURNER Thanksgiving was observed here With many family gatherings. Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Webb and Donna Lee entertained for Mr. and Mrs. W. A. Rankin, Mr. and Mrs. James Wright, Mr. . and Mrs. Faye Webb, Mr. and Mrs. Howard Prone ka and Vicki. Mr. and Mrs. Otis Branch and daughter, Marion and Bill Tow ery, Betty Jo Lee. Dinner gjuests of Mr. and Mrs. S. T. Mr. f and Mrs. Joe Brown had Mr. and Mrs. Jack Wheeler of Mehama for dinner. Mr. and Mrs. Art Kirchner of Salem were dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Ben Wipper, Wally and Don. Mr. and' Mrs. Bert Peebles en tertained Mr. and Mrs. James Irwin of Salem. Visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Leo Klokstad were Mr. and Mrs. Merrill Gallagher and fam ily, Mr. and Mrs. Earl Sherwood, all of Salem; Mr. and Mrs. Chris Far men and family of Jefferson. Spending the holiday away from home were Mr. and Mrs. Amos. Ackerson and Keith and Mr. and Mrs. Earl McMillan who visited the Tom Ackersons in Grants Pass. Mr. and Mrs. W. R. Hogsed, Mrs. Gene Poitras and Gene, jr. are .visiting the Rodger DeLorms in Renton, Wash. Mr. and Mrs. Louis Mertle, Darrell and Gordon spent the day with relatives in Eugene. Mr. and Mrs. Leslie Petersen, Mr. and Mrs. Morris Petersen, Arlene, Donna Mae and Harlan Petersen and Vannie Maze spent Thanksgiving with the Keith Pet ersens in Dallas. Hubbard Mr. and Mrs. Orley Boje are going to Honolulu about December 9 to visit their daugh ter and her husband, Mr. and Mis. Tommy Kennedy. The, latter is on the navy radio staff of the CINCPAC. Bojes expect to return next March. Gerrmis The Gervais Garden club will hold its third meeting at the home of Mrs. Ernest An dreas December 4. Eight . new members were taken in. Hubbard Ladies' Aid met at the Levil Miller home Tuesday and planned for a bazaar Satur day 8 p.m., December 13, at the city hall. Next meeting will be all fay at the George LefHer home December 10. Gervais The senior class of Gervais union high school will present a play. "It's Never Too I Late," on December 12 at 8 f.m., high school auditorium. Mrs. W. Dawson is directing the play. Orchard Heights Wayne Sim mons, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ervin Simmons, had the misfortune to break his right wrist Thanksgiv ing day at the Popcorn school. Gerrmis- A son, Gary Eugene, was born at the Woodburn hos pital November 21 to Mr.' and Mrs. Eugene Field. The child weighed six pounds 10 ounces and has an. older sister, Betty Jean. Newton home. Brassfieids are planning to move from Hebo to a farm at Cloverdale, Tillamook county, a few miles from where they are now. Mr. and Mrs. B. E. Piatt have named their farm Palestra and have a sign painted for the front of the place. Tea for Teachers Given by 8 Pupils DETROIT Tuesday afternoon the Home Relations class, whose teacher is Mrs. James Dale, gave a tea for the teachers. Girls' in the class are Rose Marie Zullig, Charlene Bell, Nancy Haseman, Mildred Wright, Betty Ketchum. Jean Bray, Dolores Huetle and Shirley Huetle. The girls arranged a program for Thanksgiving. Additional guests were Mrs. W. Hanman and Mrs. Otis White who accompanied the girls in some of their musicale numbers.
