Morley, son of Mrs. An nabelle Morley, has been revealed. No date has been set for the wed ding. , Miss Sim, a graduate of Portland schools, attended the University of Oregon and is now employed at Ladd and-Bush branch, United States National bank. Her fiance attended Salem schools, after which heserved three years in the navy. He is now employed at Keith Brown's. Emmons, has . been tapped a member of Omicron Nu, national honorary society for senior women on the campus. The tapping ceremony took place Tuesday night. Se lection" is based on scholarship, personality and leadership. Miss Emmons is a senior at Ore gon State and a major in home economics. Mr. and Mrs. Neman Nelson of Lexington will arrive in the capital Friday to spend the week end with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles S. McElhinny. On Saturday the Nelsons will motor to Eugene for the Oregon-Oregon State game. MILL CITY Jeannbie Howe will be honored with a bridal shower Friday night at 8 o'clock at the Church of Christ All her friends are invited. Mrs. Paal B. Garden Club Show Is of, Interest Attracting a number of Salem people to Portland Friday and Saturday will be the Portland Garden club's Thanksrivinff and Christmas flower show, which will be held at the home of the late Miss Mary F. Failing in Dun thorpe. The affair is slated from one to five o'clock Friday after noon and from 10 a. m. to 5 p. m. on Saturday. Tea will be served each afternoon. Among features of the show will be unusual table decorations,' mantle arrangements, a Victorian Christmas tree, dish gardens, a table of gifts for birds with Christmas trees made up especial ly for birds. There will be a num ber of unusual ideas on decorat ing the Christinas tree. Small potted plants and bags contain ing bulbs for planting will be on sale, as well as many other items suitable for gifts. Mini Elizabeth Lord and Miss Edith Schryver, both members of the, , Portland Garden club, will go b down today to arrange their exhibits. On Monday a son, James Morley, was born to Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Scheidel (Ellen Morley) at the Sa lem General hospital. The little boy weighed six pounds, fifteen ounces, and is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Morley of Salem. To Mr. and Mrs. James S. Smart (Margaret Hood) go congratula tions on. the birth of a daughter, Karen Elizabeth, on Tuesday at the Salem General hospital. The baby, who weighed eight pounds, 12 ounces, is the grandson of the Rev. and Mrs. John Hood of Inde pendence and Mr. and Mrs. J. P. Smart of Salem. A little boy, George Steven, was born to Mr. and Mrs. George Mitchell on Wednesday at the Sa lem General hospital. The baby has an older sister. Marilyn.
