to the combined staffs of the
Warner Bros, theatres Saturday
morning at the El si nor e.

the Capitol pointed out that both
theatres, which have recently
completed extensive redecora
tions, maintain a program of reg
ular fire drills and safety sched

Funeral services for Heneyl
Murhammer, 58, who died . heilJ
Saturday, will be held in the
Clough-Barrick chapel Tuesday
at 1:30 p. m. with interment ' fol
lowing in City View cemetery.-
Murhammer, who resided at
Salem route 3, was a farmer and
had lived in this vicinity for the
past 38 years. He was born in
Pittsburgh, Pa, in 1890, and came
to Salem in 1909. and the same
year he married Helena Kayser
who survives him.
Besides the widow, Murhammer
Is survived by five daughters,
Mrs. Marie Paris, Pittsburgh, Mrs.
elen Waring, Seattle, and Leona
urhammer, Martha Murhammer
id Louise Murhammer, all of Sa
lem; five sons, Fred Murhammer,
Willard Murhammer, Luther Mur
hammer and Wilbur Murhammer,
fit Salem, and Raymond Mur
hammer of Portland;-, a step
mother, Mrs. Sabina Murhammer
of Salem; a : sister, Mrs. Marie
Larimer, Crafton, Pa.; a brother.
Frank Murhammer of Pittsburgh;

department of health, the depart
ment reported Saturday. ,
They include a physical exam
ination for first-graders at Engle
wood school on Wednesday be

beginning at 1 p. m.; a child

Conventions
Herbert Barker, executive sec
retary of the Salem Trades and
Labor council, will leave with
Ajrs. Barker today for San Fran
cisco, CaL, where he will attend
two union conventions.
As Oregon vice president of the
Amalgamated Meat Cutters and
Butcher Workmen conference,
Barker will take part in a tri
state meeting of the organization
October 4 and 5. Representatives
from Oregon, Washington and
California are expected to dis
cuss formation of uniform work
contracts on the Pacific coast,
Barker said Saturday.
Barker also- is a delegate to the
10-day annual convention of the
American Federation of Labor
beginning October 6 in San
Francisco. His going marks the
first time that the Salem Trades
and Labor council has sent a
