He was born in Pittsburgh, Pa, in 1890, and came to Salem in 1909. and the same year he married Helena Kayser who survives him. Besides the widow, Murhammer Is survived by five daughters, Mrs. Marie Paris, Pittsburgh, Mrs. elen Waring, Seattle, and Leona urhammer, Martha Murhammer id Louise Murhammer, all of Sa lem; five sons, Fred Murhammer, Willard Murhammer, Luther Mur hammer and Wilbur Murhammer, fit Salem, and Raymond Mur hammer of Portland;-, a step mother, Mrs. Sabina Murhammer of Salem; a : sister, Mrs. Marie Larimer, Crafton, Pa.; a brother. As Oregon vice president of the Amalgamated Meat Cutters and Butcher Workmen conference, Barker will take part in a tri state meeting of the organization October 4 and 5. Representatives from Oregon, Washington and California are expected to dis cuss formation of uniform work contracts on the Pacific coast, Barker said Saturday. Barker also- is a delegate to the 10-day annual convention of the American Federation of Labor beginning October 6 in San Francisco.
