Hale, whose engagement to Richard Jones, son of Mr. and Mrs. Gail Jones, all of Salsm, has been revealed. No plans have been made for the wedding. Vivian Lewis to Wed in October Announcing their daughter'! gagement and flhcoroing mar riage are Mr. and Mrs. C. B. Lewi, whose daughter, Mias Vivian Louis Lewi will marry Marvin A. Pietrok, ton of Mr. and Mrs. Frank A. Pietrok of Anaheim. Calif., in October. Miss Lewi is, a graduate of Silverton schools and has been employed by the state highway department Mr. Pietrok it a graduate - of California gchools and served in the coast guard during the war. BPW Club Holds Recreation Meet Business and Prof essional Women's club held their recrea tional meeting Tuesday night at the Salem Woman's clubhouse. Cards, games and sewing were enjoyed. The recreation chair man, Mrs. Lu Verne Hardwicke, was assisted by Mrs. Dana B. Billeter. Mrs. Ben Ramseyer, Miss Phoebe McAdams, Miiti Lois Ohm art and Miss Alberta Shoe maker. , The club will meet September 23 for a dinner meeting at Nohl gren's. Hal Young of the Oregon Business , ard Tax Research, Inc. will come from Portland to speak about the sales tax. Minter JvlcVey. Vows Read Before a fireplace banked, with coral gladioluses and white chry santhemums. Miss Helen A. Mc Vey. daughter of Mr. and Mrs. R. S. McVey, was married Sep tember 7 to W. J. Mmter, son of Mr. and Mrs. H. W. Minter of Slem The Rev. Leonard Jones of West Salem Methodist church performed the ceremony which took place in the West Salem home of the bride's parents at 7 o'clock. The bride's only attendant was her sister, Miss Ruth McVey, who wore a gown of white lace over pink and carried a colonial IVSaquet. ML Dorothy Beasley lighted tapers and Miss Dorothy Butts played the wedding music preceding the ceremony. The bride's father gave her in mar riage , and also attended the groom. Mi McVey chose white satin for her wedding gown, fashioned with Colonial neckline and fin gertip veil caught by a lace crown. She wore heirloom lace gloves and carried a spray of yellow roses and white stephano tis. Her only ornament was a gold and diamond lavelier, a gift of her uncle. For her daughter's wedding Mrs. McVey chose a coral gown with a gladiolus and rose corsage and Mrs. ; Minter wore flowered voile and corsage of gladioluses and rot.es. The couple will live in Salem after their wedding trip. Both graduated from Salem schools and the groom served in the navy for three and a half years. An Anniversary Dinner Slated Dr. and Mrs. P. D. Baker have as their houseguests at their coun try home near Keizer, Mrs. Ba ker's parents, Mr. and Mrs. L. Mc- Candless of Lincoln, Neb. Mr. and Mrs. McCandless arrived Friday by train to celebrate their 69th wedding anniversary with their relatives. Dr. and Mrs. Baker will be hosts Friday night at a dinner party for her parents on their anniversary Guests will be Mr. and Mrs. M.
