On Saturday, September 13, Miss Patricia Ann Leary, daughter of the William F. Learys, will be mar ried to Jack J. Wright of Seattle. The couple's en gagement was announced on the University of Wash ington campus in the spring. The 8 o'clock ceremony will take place at tha First Congregational church with the Rev. Seth Hunt ington officiating. Mias Leary graduated from the Uni versity of Washington in June and her fiance is now attending1 the university, majoring in radio. A Home Wedding Mias Janet Gibson and Herbert Hunt have select ed Saturday, August 23 as their wedding day. The nuptials will be performed at the South Hih street home of the bride-elecfs pnrrnt, Mr. and Mrs. F. W. Gibson. The benedict-to-be is the mim of the Frank Hunts. The couple will live in Si lem following their marriage. Visitors Arrive . . . Mr. and Mrs. Jack Lampton of L AnceU-s are arriving today for a several days May in the capital with Mr. and Mrs. Robert DeArmond. Mrs. Lampton will be remembered as Mary Jane Adam, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. O. D. Adams, now of San Francisco. Mr. and Mrs. Bradford Collins and daughter. Rob in Lee. of San Francisco are expected to arrie in Salem Tuesday at the Harry V. Collins home. Robin Lee will remain here with her grandparents while her parents leave for a ten day trip to Yellowstone. (A i f - J Former Salem resident, Mrs. Albert Semmelroth, with fcer daughter. Lynn, has been visiting in the capital from their home in Salt Lake City. They have been guests at the Willard Wlrtz home. Mrs. Semmelroth will be remembered as Harrief Beall. (Kennell-Dlis). 1 Vacation Time . . It's hard to keep track of who is in town and who' is away during the summer months, with more vecationists, travelers and visitors this year than ever before. Miss Ann Boentje, her sister. Miss Helen Boentje of Holdrepe, Nebraska, Miss Joy Hills and Miss Margaret Hogg are leaving Monday for a month's motor trip which will take them north to Glacier Rational park and east through Canada to Montreal. If time permits they will tour the New England state, returning home by way of Nebraska, where Miss Helen Boentje will remain. She came west the first part of June for a visit in Portland and Salem. Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Wilson and daugh ter. Putty, are leaving Wednesday for a several weeks motor trip north to Victoria and other Canadian points. Also going north on Wednesday will be Mr. and Mrs. Claude M. Johns, who will be in Se attle and Victoria attending the western region al conference of civil service assembly from the United States and Canada. Wr. Johns is a dele gate and sessions will be held two days in each plr.ee. After the conference Mr. and Mrs. Johm will motor on north in British Columbia anc visit friends and go fishing on Vancouver Island They will be home the end of the month. Eastward Bound Miss Lois Latimer is entraining Tuesday for Lake Geneva, Wisconsin where she will spenc' the remainder of the summer with her sister ant family. Miss Echo Yeater left on the Empire Build er Saturday for Boston and New York City, where she will join Miss Elise Schroeder. who has been in Canada attending the Alpha Xi D?lta convention. After leaving New York the girls will go to Washington, D. C. and to New Orleans, where they will take a boat trip to Havana and Guatemala. They will be away a month. Mr. and Mrs. John S. Lochead left Saturday for San Francisco to spend a week with his brother, Thomas Lochead. Before' returning north they will vacation a week at Yosemite National park.' Dr. and Mrs. Maynard Sniffer and her sister and brother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Forrest Jones of Chicago, who have been here the past week, left Saturday by car for San Francisco and Ixm Angeles for a fortnight's stay.
