Dorothy Hardie, John Hay Married at St. Paul's ' The aisle of St Paul's Episcopal church was lighted with cathe dral randies which cast a soft glow over masses of calta lilies, snap dragtms and stock as Miss Dorothy Hardie stepped to the altar to wed J at An R. Hay Saturday night at 8 o'clock. The Rev. George H. Swift performed the nuptials before a large gathering of friends and rela tives. Mrs. Bob Napier of Corvallis sang for her brother's wedding ana Miss Ruth Bedford was the organist. Pews were marked with satin bows tied with flowers. Lighting the tapers were Mrs. Gervaise El liott, in pearl grey chiffon and Mrs. Robert, Pickens in white. They wore white flowers in their feair. The petite, blonde bride enter ed pn the arm of her father, W. J, Hardie. Her quaint bridal gown was of white satin fashioned with paniers and a full skirt ending in a court train. The gathered bod ice was embellished with bead ing and pearls. The sleeves were Gibson girl style. From a .crown of prange blossoms cascaded her fingertip length tulle veil, wfciA was edged in lace and tiered. -.She wore a stogie strand of pearls and carried her great-grandmother's pfayer book, marked with a white orchid. ... 'IV. ' . - Preceding her , to 'the altar was her cousin, Mrs. Richard Har- xnqnd of Tacemi, who wore a li lac flowered moire taffeta gown. Before her walked the brides maids, Mrs. Richard L. Cooley and Mrs. Byron C Mennis, who wore dresses of moon blue moire taffeta. The frocks were designed identical with elbow length sleeves, full skirts with small pa niers. The attendants wore lace mitts and headdresses of lilacs and tulle. They carried bouquets of lilacs shading from lavender to violet. Douglas Hay of Eugene stood with his brother and seating guests were Jack Dunn of Myrtle Point, . Clayboume Dyer, Harvey Quistad, Joseph" M. Devers, " jr. Bob Napier of Corvallis and Rob ert DeArmond., For her daughter's nuptials Mrs. Hardie selected a grey chiffon gown . with matching lace yoke shot with silver, and grey lace mitts. In her hair was a wreath of flowers and pinned to the shoulder of her gown was an or chid. The groom is the son of Su preme Court Justice and Mrs. Ar thur Hay. The latter wore a tOr- "quoise crepe gown with panel of flame color from shoulder to hem line. Her flowers were flame "col ored watsonias. The newly weds greeted their guests at reception at the Hay home. Mrs, A. L. McCafferty was in charge of the dining room. Pouring were Mrs. J. B. W. Law son and Mrs. James Cormack of Portland, aunts- of the groom, and Mrs. O. G. Noland of Portland and Mrs. G. M.vYeager, Salem, aunts of the bride. Mrs. W. Ludd Read and Mrs. Duane Gibson cut the bride's cake. Assisting were Mesdames Douglas Hay,. Eugene, Fred A. Davis, - Robert Cannon, Clayboume Dyer, , Wallace . Hug and Joseph Devers, Jr. Also as sisting were Mrs. Glenn McCar ty of Portland, Mrs. James H. Ni cholson, jr, Mrs. Harvey Quistad, Mrs. Robert DeArmond, Richard Cooley and Emery Hobbs. Mr. Hay and his bride are driv ing to San Francisco on their hon eymoon. For traveling Mrs. Hay wore a water lily blue wool suit, the long, fitted jacket enhanced with silver and blue bugle beads. Her open crown draped pillbox was of the same material as her suit She wore Balenccaga acces sories and carried mink furs. -A white orchid was' pinned : to her suit The couple will be at home at 170 West Wilson street after May 1. Mrs. Barton Myers was Installed at a ceremony in Portland as state president of the medical auxiliary, It's new again!
