Miss Bailey Engaged From Portland comes news of the engagement of Miss Barbara Bailey, daughter of Supreme Court Justice and Mrs. J. O. Bai ley, to Vernon R. Hedges of For est Grove, son of Earl Hedges of Turner. Miss Bailey attended Pacific university for two years where ahe was a member of Kappa Delta. Mr. Hedges is attending Pacific School of Optometry and is a member of Phi Beta Tau. During the war he served with the army ir corps. The wedding is planned for early June. St. Mark's Lutheran church guild will meet for a tea on Wed nesday at 2 o'clock at the church. Mrs. Karen Barnes will have the topic and Mrs. Oscar Liudahl will lead devotions. Lincoln Day Tea Annual Event Daughters of Union Veterans of the Civil war will be hostesses at their annual Lincoln day tea Wed nesday afternoon at the Women's clubhouse. Hours are from 3 until 5 o'clock. Members of the legisla ture, patriotic organizations in the city and other interested persons are invited through the press to attend. A committee from the past pres- ident's club will be in charge, i headed by Mrs. Pearl Simkin.
