Fiont st . was extinguished Satuiday morning by Salem firemen, who saved the ties of the cycle, but reporter) damage to the motor. Firemen were also called to extinguish a chimney fire at 1710 N. Jan. lo-tVPi-A 50 milligram capsule of radium was tossed into the incinerator of Shadyside hospital today by mistake. Dr. Surain S. Sidhu. as sociate professor of physics at the University of Pittsburgh found the lost radium with a Geiger counter. The capsule, lost for four hours, is worth $1200. His par ents reported to Salem police that he had not attended school Fri day and that he might be in the vicinity of Salem. His description given to police was: 5 feet 6 inches tall, 140 pounds, grey eyes, blonde hair, wearing bib overalls and black leather coat and riding a bicycle. BEAVER VFW TO MEET Navy Beaver post 7775, Vet erans of Foreign Wars, will meet at 8 p. m. Tuesday at the VFW hall to hear a legislative report by Ernest Smith, of the state de partment of veterans affairs, and reports on the recenj county vet erans council meeting by the post's delegates, Joseph Hopkins and William Hyder. SCOUTERS TO TRAIN A scoutmasters' training course for all scouters will begin Wednes day night at the First Methodist church. Classes will be held at 7:30 p. m. each Wednesday for six weeks. Scouters. satisfactorily completing the course will be cer tified as qualified scout leaders.
