The Associated Press 60-stock composite gave up .4 of a point, dropping to 63.7. Of 905 issues traded. 433 finished lower and 257 advanced. Transfers totaled 770, 000 sharges against 850,000 on Tuesday. American Telephone, which re ported 1946 earnings equal to $9.41 a share against $8.55 in the pre-1 ceding year, was steadier than j most issues but closed off 4 at j 1704. Western Union "A" dipped! 4 to 17. a new 1946-47 low. Sehenley resumed its recent de cline and was off at 434. Stangby of Salem, has purchased a half in terest in Baldwin's dry goods store. He has had experience in the dry goods business hoth before and after military service. The store was established 11 years ago by th late C. H. Bald win. Since his death. Mrs. Bald win operated the store until her son Clarence returned from the service, when he a slimed man agement.
