Grains Suffer
Small Losses
CHICAGO. Dec. -After
moving within a narrow price
range throughout the session on
the Board of Trade today, grains
closed with small fractional losses.
Nrws which could have any in
fluence on prices was absent, al
though after the close it was re
ported from Kansas City that the
Commodity Credit corporation
there had purchased nearly
1,000.000 bushels of wheat at $1.88
a bu.-hel on Monday and Tuesday
for delivery in May.
Wheat futures closed 's-'z
lower, January $2.101. corn wa
unchanged to lower, January
$131L-I4. and cats were -7
lower. March 751.
Domestic flour -business was
reported as dull by the North
western Miller, a trade publica
tion The publication said, "Buy
ers, including some if the largest
bakery account, apparently are
ho'ding r.ff in the belief that

In its weekly crop report, the
weather bureau -aid recent cold
weather had caught wheat with
out mow piotection but that the
low temperatures "apparently did
not persist long enough to cause
