Dale Bassett showed scenic pictures of Oregon at meeting Friday night. Stayton Restaurant operators and employes of Stayton, Sub limity, Aumsville, Turner, Me hama and Jefferson are expected to attend a food handlers' confer ence in the Bon Ton restaurant here at 8 p.m. Thursday. The con ference will be led by officials of the Marion county health depart ment under Dr. W. J. Stone's di rection. Brooks The Garden club Christmas party will be held Thursday with . Mickey Harris, first grade pupil, withdrew from this school when his parents, Mr. and Mrs. George Harris moved to Gaston. Mrs. John Zehner was elected secretary to replace Mrs., Carl Miller, recently elected, who resigned. The Christ mas party will be held Decem ber 21 and will include a 7 p.m. diner and gift exchange later. Clos ing services were held Monday for the Catholic mission held here last week, conducted by Father Wig bert Leinweber. Spring Valley School and community club will sponsor the Christmas program at the school house, Wednesday, December 18 at 8 p.m. Mrs. R. V. Carlson, teaching at Oak Grove this year has announced the school program will be December 19. ilverton Silverton grange will be host December 17 at a public installation at 8:30 p.m. of grange officers in Legion hall, when officers of the Silverton, Union Hill, . Silverton Hills, and North Howell granges will be in stalled. Mrs George Benson will be the installing officer. A no host supper will follow. Lincoln Ladies Goodwill is sponsoring- the annual Christmas party all day Thursday, December 12 at Mrs. Harold D. Burns. A covered dish dinner at noon with gift exchange later will be feat ured. Silverton Women of the Sev enth Day Adventist church will hold a gift and apron sale Wed nesday, 10:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Peterson Paint and Wallpaper store on South Water street. Roll call was re sponded to by middle names. The time was spent measuring a bed room and planning articles to fur nish it. Names were drawn for a Christmas exchange, at the Christmas party. A previous meeting at the home of Carol Kaufman was attended by Constance Hampton, assistant club agent, who advised on plan ning rooms and color scheme.
