McAlpin Club Member Wins Garden Award McALPIN Jo Anne Lang, youngest daughter pf Mr. and Mrs. J. L. Lang, is one of three state sir.ners in Oregon who will re ceive a $10 prize as a member of the National Junior Vegetable Growers association, which re cently held jts annual convention in Boston. Jo Anne is the only Marion county winner in this con test. This was her second year In 4-H gardening. She is a freshman at Silvertorv high school. Holiday Theme Features Party For Mission Unit ZEN A Christmas greens and pastel tinted flowers were used as decorations Thursday for the annual Christmas party of Spring Valley Home Missionary society at the home of Mrs. W. Frank Crawford. Co-hostesses were Mrs. Worth Henry, Mrs. V. L. Gibson, Mrr. Emma McCarter and Edna Smith. Mrs. L. I. Mickey is president. Plans were made for Christmas cheer for shutins. M:s. Robert Shepard invited the group in for January. Christmas carols were sung by the group, led by Mrs. Lois Craw ford and accompanied by Mrs. James R. Smart.
