Nov. 4-yP-For the fifth consecutive session the" stock market today negotiated an average advance although p re holiday profit cashing proved a re straining influence for many lead ers. Brokers generally credited fur ther buying partly to Wall street hopes for a republican victory. A certain amount of selling, how ever, was attributed to the thought that political optimism may have been overdone and that the re cent advance possibly discounted results at tomorrow's polls.
