Salem Folk Homecoming t on the University of Oregon campus this week end and the Oregpn-WSC game on Saturday afternoon will attract a number of alumni and parents to Kugene. In one group' will be Mr. and Mrs. Gene Vahdencynde, Miss Patricia Vandeneynde, Rodney Vandeneynde and Mr. and Mrs. John Steelhammef. They will be registered at the Kugene hotel for the weekend. Rdncy is driving north from San Francisco, where he has been the past month, and will join his family in Eugene. Mrs. Karl Becke, Mrs. H. G. Maison and Mrs. Velma Farmer will leave Friday for Eugene .to remain for the weekend. Mrs. Farmer will visit her son, Ray, a Beta, and Mrs Becke will be joined in Eugene by her son -in- j law and daughter, the William Shinns of Corvallis, for the game and homecoming festivities. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Huggins are motoring to i Eugene Friday for the homecoming weekend and Mr. Huggins, a member of the alumni advisory board, will attend a meeting of the board that night. Mr. and Mrs. Hoi lis Huntington and Mr. and Mrs. Paul Hendricks will motor to Eugene for the game and will be Joined there by Mr. and Mrs. Lowell : Kern and Mr. and Mrs. William Swindell of Portland. The four couples will be guests at . a pre-game lunch eon at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Woodworth, former Sa lem residents. ; Mr. and Mrs. Walter Kirk will attend the game 'and visit their daughter, Janet. t the Delta Del ta Delta house. Mr. and Mrs. J. S. Lochead will also go down for the game and join their coed daughter, Joun, a freshman. Mr. and Mrs. Henry Simmons will be among other: parents in Eugene for the game and homecoming and will visit their daughter, Betty- Gene, at the Delta Zeta house. Mott of Brooks, was quietly solemnized on October 11 in the study of the Rev. Robert Coulter, pastor of the First Church of the Nazarene, with the Rev. Mr. Coul ter officiating. For her wedding the bride chose a blue afternoon dress with black accessories and an orchid corsage. Attending the couple were Mrs. Nellie Varley and the groom's father. The newly weds are now at home at 624 North Capitol street. The groom, who served in the army, is now with the Salem Wa ter Commission. Circus Party For Billy Purvine Billy Purvine, young n of Dr. and Mrs. Ralph E. Purvine, will celebrate his fourth birthday on Saturday at the Fairmount Hill home of his parents. Fifteen of his friends have been invited t a circus party at 3 o'clock. A clown will' perform during the afternoon for the youngster and pass out favors to the guests. A decorated cake featuring the circus: theme will center the refreshment table. A miniature circus will be curried out in the decorations. President Is Harold Phillippe, vice-president, Harry Holt, and secretary, Fred Humphrey, First dance of the season is scheduled for October 18 to be followed by dances on the third Friday of each succeeding month, through May of 1947.
