Invitations were in the mail the past week to a formal reception for which Pres ident George Herbert Smith of Willamette university, Mrs. Smith and their daughters, Sara Louise and Margaret Alice, will be hosts on Thursday night, October 10. The reception 1 will be held M University House and is being arranged in compliment to members of the Willamette university faculty and their wives, members of the board tt trustees and their wives, and official visitors of the state of Oregon to the university nd theif wives. Palling hours are from 8 to 10 o'clock. Luncheon at. Spauldinji s Tuesday a i Mrs. Bruce Snaulding will be a luncheonpostess Tuesday afternoon at her Fairmount Hill home when she entertains for friends. They will attend the pre-campaign meeting for March of Dimes and will be registered at the St. Francis hotel.
