It waa a quiet country town that had never had any juvenile crime problem. That in, it didn't have UNTIL (because of the war) . . . The Boy Scouts, the Girl Scouts, and the Community House shut down. The folks who ran them had gone ' to fight or into war work. Then a series of crimes broke out. They were traced to children of "good" families. Investigation showed "there was just no place for the kids to go for wholesome recreation. Says LIFE MAGAZINE: "Experience shows that delinquency goes UP when recreational facilities go down." Well, the youth-serrfna: facilities won't go down fn our town if you'll dig down to, support our Red Feather services when the Community Chest volunteer worker calls for your contribution.
