Kerber and Rose were called to Monmouth by the death of her father. Elmer Gilliam. Funeral services were held at Christian church, Monmouth Sun day. He had been ill several months. LILLIAN MILLER j 1VYONS Funeral services were held Thursday in Stayton for Mrs. Lillian Miller, who died at Lyons after a short' Illness. She had lived in this vicinity for SO years. Born in Glover, Vt., Nov. 23, 1870. Survivors are the wid ower, Earl Miller; three sons, Ernest- of Stayton. Vernon of Ly ons, Harry of Jordan. Mont.; one sister, Mrs. Lewis Kirkland of Mehama, and eight grandchildren. The Rev. Willard Buckner of Stayton conducted services. Final rites were in Lone Oak cemetery, Stayton. FALIIABER SENTENCED SILVERTON, Sept. IS Wallace Falhaber, Mt. Angel, : was found guilty of reckless driving; in Jus tice court here today. He was fined $50 and sentenced to 10 days hvlail by Alf O. Wheat paced the upturn as trading volume ex panded from the listless level of recent sessions. There was also a stronger market for cash grain. Wheat was a' cent higher In the spot market while a leading industry raised bids on new crop corn as much as 10 cents a bushel over yesterday's late prices. Wheat finished 14-2 higher. January $1.97, corn was up 17 2 cents, January $13, and oats were ahead 4-l,4. September 79V4-H. March barley sold at 9 l.40s, up ZH. Heavy flour business at new ceilings, leading traders to ex pect an increase demand for cash wheat from Mills, was a major factor in the bread cereal up turn.
