Sept. 9 Floyd Merlin Carpenter, 26, whose fam ily lives in Monmouth, died Sun day as the result -of a head injury received in a motor cycle accident last Wednesday. His brother, Basil who was with him on the motor cycle is improving from his in juries at the Lebanon hospital.; The parents are Mr. and Mrs. William Carpenter of Monmouth and lived here before moving. Other survivors are five broth er. ANGEL, Sept 9 Because of the shortage, of help in the har vest fields, all ML Angel schools have postponed opening date to September 23. This includes Mt Angel Preparatory for boys, Mt Angel Normal and; academy for girls, the . academy grade school and St. Mary's grade school, i New teachers ' on the grade school are Patricia Connel, Mt. Angel; and Paul Poretti from Ne braska. Poretti has not arrived here as yet but he and his wife and , child are expected to make their home here.
