Mrs Ina Johnvon Mrc ' Mr. Clifton is now employed in Ing Beach after serving four years in the U S. army air forces. The wedding will be an event of, early October. JMiss Evelyn Roseman is en- gaged to Lee S. Fallin, son of j Mr. John J. Fallin of Salem. Both I attended Salem high school and j Miss Roseman is now employed in the secretary of state's office. Mr. Fallin served four years as a paratrooper in the South Pa cific theater, and is now playing for the Salem Senatois. No date has been set for the weddinik Major Patterson came down from Seattle, Where he is sta tioned with the army, to give his eldest daughter in marriage. For her wedding she chose a white lace gown fashioned with low waistline to which was gathered a full, floor length skirt. The sleeves were, long and trimmed with lace buttons and the high neckline was round. Her fingertip length tulle veil cascaded from an open crown de signed with high pointed tiara of lace and tulle. She carried a white prayer book marked with white orchids. Miss Jean Patterson preceded her sister to the altar and was her maid of honor. She wore a peach net frock made with a low waistline, full $kirt, cap sleeves and a high tound neckline. She carried a cascade bouquet of peach gladioluses and wore a flowered Juliet cap. Brother Is Best Man Richard Cate of Middleton stood with his brother as best man. Mrs. Kenneth Hanson. Mrs. Beach Fetes Mrs. Brownell Mrs. Roswell W. Beach pre sided at a smartly arranged stir prise luncheon on Monday after noon in honor of Mrs. Robert M Brownell. The affair was held at the Royal Court apartment of Mrs. Beach s mother, Mrs Lehmer. Contract bridge was in play following the luncheon hour. Bou quets of summer flowers in pas tel shades provided the decora tive note. Covers were placed for Mrs. Robert M. Brownell, Mrs. Doug las Chambers, Mrs. Francis V. Smith. Mrs. Phil Brownell, jr.. Returning Monday from stay at their summer home at Neko win were Mrs Frank 11. Spears, F. W. i f.r., and daughter, Mrs. Carlton i McLeod. Joining them for the weekend were Mr. McLeod, Mrs. Taylor Hawkins and daughter Harriet. Mrs. Thomas A. Mrs. Moberly, who came with her sons for the wed ding, wore a black crepe ensem ble with matching accessories. Their corsages were of fuchsias and rosebuds. The Patterson home was the scene of the wedding reception which followed the nuptials. Mrs. Befsie Horner presided at the punch bowl and Mrs. E. E. Bragg cut the bride's cake. Serving were Miss Margaret Hughlett, Miss Donna Upjohn, Miss Barbara Belt, and Miss Mary Nims of Portland. Miss Virginia Case passed the guest book. The newlyweds motored north to Vancouver and Victoria, B. C, on their honeymoon. For travel ing the bride donned a black suit ! with lace trim and white sheer ! blouse. Her iat and accessories 1 were black and . to her suit she , pinned white orchids. V. Benson are entertaining as their house guests this week members of her family. Mr. and Mrs. S. R. Bell, brother and sister-in-law of Mrs. Benson, are here. from. Keota, Iowa. With them are the Bell's son and his family, Mr. and Mrs. James R. Bell and children. Douglas and Karen Sue, also of Keota. Joining the visitors here on Saturday will be the Bell's daugh ter and her family, Mr. and Mrs. William Gi McClanahan and daughter, Sharon, who are coming north from their home In San Francisco. On Sunday the Bensons, their sons, Steven $nd Whitney, and their guests will go to Seaside for a sojourn and to take part in the Columbia river salmon fishing. Mr. and Mrs. Gil Lieser and daughter, Gail Irene, have re turned from a two weeks sojourn in Seattle. They were guests of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. G. A. Lieser, at their summer home on Puget Sound.
