Janice Lemmon to Marry Preston Smith Today At 3 o'clock this aternoon Miss Janice Lemmon, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Oral Lemmon, will become Preston Tolar Smith's bride at the First Presbyterian church. The groom is the son o Mr. and Mrs. Hiram Whetstone Smith of Inverness, Mist. They were unable to come west for the nuptials. i Dr. Chester W. Ilamblin will officiate before a setting of peach ana cream colored gladioluses and buddleia flanked by palms, ferns and tapers. Miss Jerre Kimmell of Portland will sing "Because" before the bridal party enters and during the ceremony will sing The Lord's Prayer." Prof. T. S. Roberts wil be the organist. Miss Mary Jo Leonard and Miss Mar- Jorie Ingrey of Portland, in pow der blue dresses, will light the candles. Of ivory satin is the bridal adorned the wedding gown of her aunt, Mrs. L. N. Traver of Corval 11s. Her bridal bouquet will be of ivory roses encircled with pink roses. Around her, neck will be clasped a pearl necklace, a gift of the groom. The Bridal Party The bridal attendants will wear quaint frocks of net and carry old (fashioned bouquets of peach and gown. ine iutea bodice, with a low waistline. Is fashioned with a sweetheart neckline and lone- sleeves. Wide ruffling of satin eyelet embroidery enhances the run skirt and train. Miss Barbara Cady, the maid of honor, twill wear peach net with short sleeves, a square neckline and ruffling at the waistline. Bridesmaids will be Miss Jerre Kimmell and Miss Imogene Ridge way of Portland, and will be gowned in orchid net dresses made with sweetheart necklines, cap sleeves, full skirts and pep- lums. The girls will all wear mat ching bandeaux in their hair caught with flowers at each side. William Pettit will stand with the groom and seating the guests will be Robert Batdorf and Rob ert Sutley of Eugene and Harvey Scranton. : For her daughter's nuptials Mrs. Lemmon has chosen a black sum mer sheer dress trimmed in pink with pink gloves and black hat embellished in pink and an orchid corsage. ' The couple will greet their guests at a reception in the church parlors. Mrs. L. N. Traver will be in charge of the dining room. Mrs. Glenn Paxson will preside at the coffee urn and cutting the cake will be Mrs. Lowell Brown of Sil verton and Mrs. Stanley Morris. Serving will be Misses Mary , Jo Leonard, Mar jorie Ingrey, Shirley Bridges and Maravene Chambers. In charge of the gifts and passing the guest book will be Miss Sus an Snook of Eugene and Miss Marilyn .Archibald. Mr. Smith and his bride will go Miss Bottler To Wed at Chapel Of interest to the couple's many Salem friends is the marriage to day in Portland of Miss Grace Bottler and Donald T. Nelson, which will be quietly solemnized at one o'clock at Trinity Episcopal chapel. The Rev. Lansing Kemp ton will officiate before a setting of pastel summer flowers. The bride, who will be given in marriage by her uncle, L. C. Rob ertson, has selected a blue dress maker suit for her wedding. She will wear a white straw hat and white accessories. Her mother is using a pink and white color scheme.
