Nibler, Marion county agent, to make plaas now for killing this pest before seed is formed. Tansy, ragwort is a poisonous wel becoming more and more common in parts of Marion coun ty, particularly Bethel, Turner and Jefferstin areas. ' Recommendations on killing the plants varies? from pulling or dig ging out a few plants to spraying with chemicals for larger in festations. Most popular in the small spray outfit is a three gallon hand pressure sprayer ust ing a solution of l'i pounds of either sodium chlorate or atla cide to one gallon water. Plants are given a good wetting with- the solution before seed is formed and the action of the chemical kills them in a few days. Plans for 9 weed control dis trict for- Harsy ragwort in the Bethel attea are proceeding under Ansre Spranger. Salem t , Ranch Ramblings By the Rural Reporter Pert, repa, 9 S3.
