Marion Lcgue underwent an operation follow ing an injury and k in a Silverton hospital. Mrs. Alice Lanjjley of Nebras ka is visiting the families of her two sons, Odell and Wallace Langley. Mr. and Mrs. Bert Howe of Lebanon and Cvril Osterhoudt and on Everett of Compton, Calif , were recent visitors at A. J. Ettlens. Jessie Wakefield has gone to Newberg for the summer. Mrs. Valderia Bennett is visit ing her parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Fowler, on Crooked Finger road. Mrs. Bennett was recently discharged from the army. Monmouth Social Hour Club Members Guests of Independence Woman INDEPENDENCE, May 6-(Special ) -Monmouth Social Hour club was entertained Wednesday with the only Independence member, Mrs. Walter Smith, as hostess. Mrsu Neal Edwards was Co-hostess. A covered-dish picnic lunch eon was served in the Smith gar dens for 30 at 1 p.m. Mrs. Ed wards, retiring president, present ed new officers corsages and to four members who had attended each meeting of the year. New officers are Mrs. Paul Ri ley, president; Mrs. Eldon Riddell, vice president; and Nell Link, sec retary - treasurer. Special guests were Mrs. Helmar Gentle, Mrs. M. Gentle.
