1-1: ' Tb OREGON STATESMAN. Salem Oregon, Wednesday Morning. March 13, 1948 PAGE NINE Grain Prices RcmainfSteady, Trade Drags CHICAGO, March 12-(4-Grain future traders could find no reason for aggressive support in any of the "active contracts to day, with the result that no im portant prire changes developed. The general attitude of the pit traders was to mark time, pend ing announcement at Washington of the new feed-grain control or (fer. expected some time this week. May rye registered a . gain of more than 1 cent, due largely to the decrease of supplies at im portant terminals and the strength rye displayed at Winnipeg. Outside interest was only fair in any of the pits. Commercial Interests were on both side of the oats market with offerings in creasing on the hard spot. The effect of continued strong demand for cash grain was offset by favorable weather and crop reports. The department of agri culture placed the winter wheat crop a of March 1 at 751,000,000 bushels, slightly under record production. At the finish wheat was un changed to H higher than yester day's close. May $1,834 Corn was unchanged at ceiling, $1.21 'i Oats were 4 lower to higher, May 824. Rye was unchanged to 14 higher. May $2.12N-Ts. Bar ley was unchanged. May $1,26 4. THIMBLE THEATRE I MUST BE A DUMB OX -I JUSf CaH'T melp likimgtmat in- ... . . . ...AAan.eC 5Pr FOR MRS.
