' ! The UNRRA announced it had bought 354,829 tons of UJS. wheat, about 12,000,000 bushels, for Eu ropean relief durinj August, Sep tember and October, It said it would buy 400,480 tons more. Wheat closed to ITi cent higher than the previous finish, December $1.781i, corn was up to December $1.18, the ceiling, oats were ahead Hi to 2's cents higher, December $1.63 $1.62, and barlejy was down to Va, December $1.1 9. The defense supplies corpora tion announced the November subsidy rate to millers for wheat ground outside the PacHic coast area would be 30 cents a bushel, an increase of 3 cents, and in the coast area would be 33 cents, up 514 cents. The trade had ex pected boosts of about 2 an 3 cents.
