ited vhis uncle,- Leslie H. Brown
and family at Forest Grove.

has been awarded the presidential
unit citation, and the Asiatic-Pacific
theater ribbon with five bat
tl stars.

Visits Sister
Visiting Mrs. Robert M. Hulst
on North Capitol street is her
brother, PFC Richard L. Weldin,
a member of the 87th infantry
division. He was liberated on May
8 after being held a prisoner for
five and a half months at Luken
berg and Lukenwalde, Germany.
He says he received fair treat
ment but suffered continually
from starvation and th cold
weather. Christmas menu consist
ed of grass soup, turnip, potato
peelings and spoiled animal heads,
he reported. .
PFC Weldin will report to
Santa Barbara for reassignment
at th termination of his two
months furlough. A sister, Miss
Hallie Weldin, left Sunday morn
ing for Kansas City to be with
another sister, Mrs. J. B. Syfert,

ing 15 per cent during the last
six months, have broken all prev
ious records, Railway Express
Agency's local office announced
today.
Gross revenue on air traffic
through here during th first six
months of this year was $177,
797.94, compared with $120,923.44
for the same period in 1944, the
