Market Rise
Still Moving
NEW YORK, Aug. 2a-(P-Se-lected
stock, including aircrafts,
managed to keep the market re
covery ball rolling today although
many steels, rails and motors were
unable to overcome light selling.
Offerings generally were based
on the idea six successive rising
sessions to eight-year peaks for
Industrials entitled the list to a
technical correction if the climb
was to be resumed later.
Transfers totaled 920,000 shares,
compared with 1,260,000 the day
before.
The Associated Press 60-stock
composite was off 1 of a point at
66.8, first decline since Aug. 20.
Wiieat, Corn Make Up
Losses, Oats Weak
CHICAGO, Aug. 29-()-Wheat
and corn firmed after early frac
tional losses, but oats were" weak.
There was some mill buying of
wheat futures presumably against
flour, sales. Flour demand is re
ported good.
Wheat closed unchanged to
higher than the previous finish,
September $1.64s, corn was Vt to
H up, December $1.15.
The average depth" of the ocean
below sea level is 12,450 feet; the
greatest depth, off the Philippines,
35,400 feet.
