Amos Beugli of St, Helens was elected president; Aaron Beugli of Salem, vice pres ident; Mrs. Mabel Conrad of Can by, secretary-treasurer, and Mrs. Lena Kleen of Pratum, historian. The oldest member of the clan present was Mrs, Lena Conrad, 81, of Hubbard, who headed the four generation group with her daugh ter, Mrs. Aaron Yoder.J her son, Nolan Yoder, and his daughter, Marcia Yoder, all of Yoder, pres ent for the day. j - ' j .; The family came to Silverton in 1880 and David! Beugli died here in 1883 Three of the 12 children are still living, Mrs. Aline Goba let of San Francisco, and C. A. Beugli of Molalla were unable to be present. Isaak Walton League Meeil j The annual picnic of the Silver ton chapter of the Izaak Walton league was held at Coolidge & Mc4 Claine park with 60 members and members of their families present, Arthur Gottenberg, president, and Clark "Bachman, committee chair man, were hosts. The ; afternoon was given over to sport contests. Over 60 members of the; Wood burn Immanuel and Monitor Ni-r deros Lutheran churches gathered for their annual picnic at the Sil verton park. ; The Rev. Olaf Asper heads both pastorates. With the 75th Division, the 772nd formed the northern flank of the Ruhr pocket and partici pated in the attack on Dortmund. They contained, these forces and performed occupational duty in Warburg, Germany, until relieved to proceed through the assembly area " command's redeployment camps enroute to the states. The award citation reads: "The battalion was advancing along the highway In Terviso, Italy, when the leading company riding tanks was subjected to intense small arms and automatic weapons fire from the flanks. V Burns, advancing forward un der the intense enemy fire on the highway reached . the wounded men. He rendered. first aid to a comrade suffering with compound fracture of. both legs, and bleed ing profusely. - "" " Completely disregarding the en- ; cmy fire, Burns completed -administering first aid and evacuated all the. wounded casualties to the rear," concluded the citation..
