Wall street decided today that the amazing new development might mean a quicker - than - expected peace and ensuing selling drove down stock market prices 2 points and more. Biggest retreats appeared in the heavy war-rated, stocks like rails, utilities. Steels, aircrafts and met als. A few favorites managed to tack on plus signs. Eastman Kodak and Union Carbide were, up frac tionally, i One standout was Vanadium Corp. of America, producer of uranium used in the cosmic bomb. It closed at -26 ( up j 2V but slightly off from the high for the day. . . The Associated Pfesg 60-stock composite was down Lfl.bf a point to 63.8. Grain Futures Prices Drop On Bear Mart CHICAGO Aug. 7.-UPV-Bear- ish j sentiment predominated in grain futures trading today and prices sagged. j Hedging sales had a depressing effect on wheat and 'oats. Wheat was at its lowest levels of the day at the close.
