Here for a few days at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Roseborough are her nephew and family, Lt and Mrs. John Fellows Coffey and young son, . John, of Portland. Mrs. Coffey is the former Elizabeth Warner of Churchland, West Virginia. Lt, Coffey has been with the marine corps in the south Pa cific since before Pearl Harbor. He is also a nephew- of Major Robert Coffey of Salem. Summer visitors of Mr. and Mrs. L. L. Laws at their Morn ingside home are Mrs. A. S. Ro berts, her daughter, Mrs. Joseph Binford, and sons, Joan and Joe of Independence, Kansas. .Cap tain Binford is now in Italy. Mrs. Roberts, who formerly made her home in Texas, has often visited at the Laws home. The visitors plan to spend the summer here. Arrive From East - Expected to arrive, in the cap ital today is Mrs. Hugh William McElhinny (Marjorie Hilll.who has been in Fayetteville, North Carolina with Corporal McEl hinny. He expects to Join his wife here next month. Mrs. Mc Elhinny will be at the home of her mother and her husband's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles S: McElhinny. Mr, ana Mrs: Robert Sprague and 18 months old daughter, Ka thryn, were visitors in the cap ital this week at the home of Mr. and Mrs. C. A. Sprague. The Spragues resided in Salem be fore he entered the army trans port service. Mrs. Spraguewent south to Los Angeles in May to meet her husband, who returned from active-duty. They spent a week in Long Beach and Los Angeles before coming north to visit their families in , Portland and Seattle. .Mr. Sprague left by plane Wednesday for Los Angeles. Mrs. Sprague and their daughter will go on to Seattle, where they make their home. Former Residents Here Mrs. O. D. Adams and daugh ter, Nancy, of Bremerton, for ; merly of Salem, are the house guests this week of Mr. and Mrs. Oscar I. Paulson, sr. Command er Adams is stationed in Brem- erton with the navy. Mrs. Jack Lampion Mary- Jane Adams), I eldest daughter . of Commander I and Mrs. Adams, accompanied her mother and sister to Salem. She is the house guest of Mr. and Mrs. Robert DeArmond. Mrs. Lampton is entraining Fri day for her home in Los Ange les Her army sergeant husband, who has been in Europe, is ex pected home this summer. Mrs. Lampton has been in Bremer ton visiting her parents.' .; Mr. and Mrs. L: O. Arens have had as their guesls for sev- eral days, Mr. and Mrs. E. L. Bentley and Miss Barbara Bent ley of Tule Lake, Caiii. The Bentleys came north for the gra duation of their daughter from the University of Oregon last Sunday. Miss Bentley plans to return to Salem in the fall, as . she has accepted a teaching po sition at Parrish junior high school. The Home Maxine Buren Women' Editor Bride-Elect Is Honor Guest Miss Betty Andrews, bride elect of Mr. Jay Savereid, will be the honor guest at a bridal party Friday night when Miss Sybil Spears entertains at the Chemeketa street home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank H. Spears. The wedding of the couple will take place in Port land at the home of her par ents on Sunday, July 22. After an informal evening a late , supper will be served by the hostess and her mother. Bou quets of summer flowers will provide the decorative note a bout the rooms. Mrs. Charles L: Andrews of Portland, mother of the bride-to-be, will be here for the occasion. Miss Andrews, ' a Pi Beta Phi at Willamette uni versity, will graduate on Sat urday. Mrs. Wilson President of Auxiliary The American Legion auxil iary heard musical numbers by Glenn Allen, vocalist, and Edna Marie Hill, pianist, at the meet ing Monday night. Important business was the election of the new officers: Mrs. Austin H. Wilson, president; Mrs. I. N. Cacon, first vice-president; Mrs. Merle Travis, second vice-president; Mrs. Paul Ficke, recording secretary; Mrs. J. A. Lewis, treasurer; Mrs. John Ol son, corresponding secretary; Mrs. W. H. Anderson, finance of ficer; Mrs. Florence Ames, Mrs. Mabel Gabriel and Mrs. Edna Stacey, executive board mem bers. Executive board will meet with Mrs. Frank Marshall on July 9. Lions Auxiliary Dinner Tonight Lions auxiliary members will gather for a dinner meeting to night at thle country home of Mrs. A. C. Haag on the Croisan Creek Road. This will be the last meeting of the year for the group. The 6:30 o'clock dinner will be served in the garden. Installation of new officers will be held with the state presi dent, Mrs. A. L. V. Smith of Silverton, the installing officer. New officers are Mrs. Floyd eamster, president; Mrs. Glenn Weaver, vice-president; Mrs. Lwen Wises secretary; and Mrs. Carroll Ford, treasurer.
