At a dinner party at the Pi Beta Phi house Thursday night Miss Alice Jones, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C. D. Jones of North Bend, revealed her be trothal to Mr. John Northway, son of Mr. and Mrs. L. E. North way of 'Knightsville, Ind. No date has been set for the wed ding. The news was made known when scrolls, bearing the names "Alice and John," were found hidden under individual nose gays. Miss Jones Is a 'senior in sociology at Willamette and will receive her degree in June. Mix sugar land 1 flour. Add syrup and mix well. Pour over rhubard. t Scone Turn-Abont ' 1 cup sifted enriched flour m teaspoons baking powder teaspoon salt . 2 tablespoons- shortening f V cup milk 1 tablespoon corn syrup ' M teaspoon lemon extract I 1 egg, beaten Sift together flour, baking powder and salt Cut or rub In shortening. Add milk, syrup and lemon extract to egg. Add all to flour mixture, stirring only enough to moisten flour. Drop dough by teaapoonfuls on rhu bard mixture, forming ring around edge of dish. Bake In moderately not oven (400 de grees Farhenheit) about 20 min utes. Yield: four glazed rhubarb turn-abouts.
