delegation, despite the reserved

s tonal delegation said-tonight they
expect an early decision on a pro
posal to establish a naval rehabili
tation center- at Klamath Falls,
Ore
Referring to the site plans, Rep.
Stockman (R-Ore) said the argu
ment is "hot." "There are two oth
er placed besides Klamath Falls
under consideration," he reported,

Ore) said the proposal has been
under almost continuous discus
sion for' some time
The center would be of tempo
rary construction, for treatment of
servicemen with malaria and filar
iasis, similar to the marine hospi
tal now in Klamath Falls. Land
acquisition of 300 acres Is con
templated. - -
Funds for the structure are con
tained in an omnibus public works
appropriation for the navy which
passed the house this week. Dur
ing hearings on the bill. Comman
der C. H. Crichton told the house
appropriations committee that the
proposed new plant, if established
at Klamath Falls, would cost $3,
. 367,000.
New Berry Ceiling
Will Equalize Prices

regional OPA official told farm

berries would equalize producer
prices and hinted ration points

on a warehouse on Mindanao and
strafed an airfield at Davao on
that island. He also took part' in
bombing and strafing sweeps over
Cebu and Negros and hit military
objectives on Luzon.
From his base on Green island.
Lieutenant Semb had previously
sunk two Jap barges in Simpson
harbor, near Rabaul, on New Brit
ain. He got five more in waters
near Kavieng, and has flown 100
missions, logging 300 combat fly
ing hours. The son of Mr. and
Mrs. Anton Semb, 945 Belmont st.,
he was commissioned at. Corpus
Christi, Tex., in October, 1943. ,
Rutherford is the son of Mrs.
L. M. Rutherford, route seven,
Salem. He last served with the
First marine division, and kears
the Purple Heart ribbon for
wounds received in the battle for
Peleliu. He is a former Salem high
school student.

Health Clinic Held
At Brooks This Week
A health clinic ' was held at
Brooks this week with Dr.-W. J.
Stone of the Marion county health
department' in charge. Forty-four
school children were examined,
101 diphtheria immunizations giv
en, 65 smallpox vaccinations made,
34 TB tests given and eight im
munizations against whooping
cough given.
Helping at the clinic were Mrs.
Howard Ramp, Mrs. William Cot
tew, Mrs, Harry Basch, Mrs. Jos
eph Burr, Mrs. George Legg, Miss
Lorna McCoy and Mrs. Bertha
Jones. ; ;'"

killed in work accidents in 1944,
and 23,500 killed in off -the-job
accidents.
