i i P AGS TWELVE Grains Slump At Start But dose Strong CHICAGO, March 14. Grain markets , dipped frequently under the pressure of profit cash- 1 ing sales today but recovered dur ing the final hour and finished ;- with most prices showing frac tional gains. Wheat was independently strong at times and the nearby contracts reached new seasonal highs. Flour millers were persistent buyers, centering their nurchases in the May delivery which was offered in large amounts at $1.72. In cash grain markets the short age of box cars has curtailed re ceipts and prices are firm at OPA ceilings. Flour prices have risen about 15 cents j-sr sack since January and the Northwestern Millers,, a trade journal, said mills, unable to find adequate shiping facilities, were allocating , their product to assure equitable distribution. Corn was off minor fractions during most of the day but ral lied just before the close. At the finish wheat was lower to .i higher than yester day's close, May $1.714-1.72. Corn was up V to May $1.15- Oats were up -to off H, May 67-. Rye was lower to higher. May 1.15-1.14. Barley was uf 4 to 1, May $1.12.
