At one o'clock, : - at the home of the bride's par ents a wedding dinner honored the couple. After a short honeymoon they will return to reside on the farm of the groom in Linn county, near Stayton. Dyck-Leisy Vows Read at Church NORTH DALLAS The Grace Mennonite church at Dallas was the scene of the marriage of Miss Bette June Leisy, daughter of Rey. and Mrs. Homer Leisy of Norm Dallas, and Vernon George Dyck, son of Mr. and Mrs. Isaack Dyck of Polk station, on Friday evening at an 8:00 o'clock candle light service before an altar banked with daffodilly in moss and "a latticed fence and archway adornment. The1 bride's father officiated at the double ring cer emony. Mr. Homer : Welty of Portland,; the bride's brother-in-law, sang "God Gave Me You" and "Because". Mrs. Welty pre sided at the piano. The bride wore a white bro caded satin gown with sweet heart neckline, j fashioned ' on princess lines with long sleeves. The veil of tulle was full length She ; wore a three strand pearl necklace and carried a white Bi ble fwithj an orchid and white streamers with pink rosebuds. For something old she had her mother's lace handkerchief. ! The maid of honor was Miss Dorothy Leisy, the bride's sister, who was -dressed in a pink gown fashioned with a satin bodice and sheer skirt! She carried a co lonial bouquet of spring flowers. The groom's sisters, Lenora Schferling and 7 Vivian Schellen berg of Portland and Polk station were the bride's maids. They wore identical blue gowns. The flower girl was little Carol Diehm dressed in whit and ringbearer was her brother, v Mr. Dyck chose as best man, Mr. Edward ScheUenberg. Ush ea were Marvin Janzen and Ab raham Schierling. This survey would be the first step in long range planning for use pf the tract for a center of recrea tional facilities.' : '1 The veterans memorial build ing, is the only concrete proposal for such a recreational center, for which funds will be raised. ; A number of other recreational pro jects, playgrounds, tennis-courts and swimming pooL have been discussed. By having this city property surveyed and i pi an drawn up. the site can be made use of for projects that will take a number of years to complete and still not have an unsightly disorderly appearance. The council further decided -to set aside as a fund to develop this property, the money collected as a tax on punchboards. It has been suggested that all civic organiza tions cooperate with the veterans' groups and the city In building and maintaining such a commun ity center. The punch board tax Is a new tax and so the undertaking not mean any additional bur- oen on nome owners.
