Red Hills Election The an nual election ' of officers at Red Hills grange last week , was post poned because of a small attend ance due to foggy weather. Liberty Homecoming The Lib erty local of the Farmers Union will hold a homecoming . party starting with a no-host dinner at 7 o'clock.- The local will furnish meat and members will bring the rest of the dinner to celebrate the eighth anniversary of its organ ization. ' i Hayesville Program A Thanks giving program will be given at the Hayesville school Wednesday afternoon. Annual Corn Show Plans Are Ready Elton Watts presided at th No vember meeting of the ; Central Howell Farmer's Union. Silas Tor vend and Gerald Nibler reported for the agricultural committee that the annual com show would be held at the Central Howell school house December 8. The Farmer's Union auxiliary will serve supper from 6:30 and 8 p.m. A nominal fee will be charged. The judging for the show will be done by members of the 4-H clubs. Members will bring gifts for the Children's Farm home and the Doernbecher hospitaL Miss Shumaker -Is Guest Speaker At Fairs City AUMSYILLE William Ar chie Howard, 75, died at bis home here Saturday morning. The fun eral will be held Thursday :at 10 o'clock. He was born near Bar- bersville, Ky, February 28, 1869. With his parents he moved to Ore gon when he was 17. The family located in Aurora. He had lived in Aumsville for 19 years. In 1892 he married Molly Seism of Okla homa. They had three sonj and one daughter,. The -daughter died in 1913 and the mother sevefal years later. In v 1920 he married Mrs. Maud Snyder of Portland who Lsurvives him. They had two sons. William Archie Howard, jr. Ph. Mlc, wh the US navy in the racinc area; xoroy a. tiowara. Slc in the Pacific. Other sur vivors are a stepson, McClellan Thornton, Ph.MJc In the navy in the Pacific; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Vilis Coin, of Salem: :eleten grand children; two brothers, John Howard ' of : Marks . Prairie, Ore. Daw Howard of Portland, and one sister, Mrs. Josie Brehm of Port land. .Three sons, Sherman How ard of Idaho Falls, Weston How ard of Keno, Ore Oscar Howard of Salt Lake City, Utah. He was a member of the-Methodist church for 50 years." - t v- i . Funeral services will : be - held at 10 a. m. Thursday at the Wes- leyan " Methodist . church. Rev.; 1 E.
